The sweater body is knitted flat from the bottom in one piece to underarms, then knitted separately as two fronts and a back. The cabled button band is worked as part of the sweater body, then continues as a narrow band around the neckline. Buttonholes are worked as eyelets within the front cable. Sleeves are set in.
