How to Tie a Lark's Head Knot
Also known as Cow Hitch, the Lark's Head Knot is a basic yet strong knot used frequently in plastic canvas designs as well as in macramé, beading, paracord projects, general crafts and for making fringe on crochet and knitting. Lark's Head Knots are frequently used to join objects or strands of floss or yarn together, make a hanging loop or to attach cords to a dowel or ring.
- Thread a 3-inch length of yarn in your needle. Create a doubled length of yarn by pulling ends even.
- Insert needle down through hole in canvas and pull yarn about ½-inch through the canvas, forming a small loop on the front of the canvas.
- Insert needle up through loop and pull ends through and off needle.
- Tighten knot against the edge of the plastic canvas. Trim ends evenly as needed.
