How to Work a Stem Stitch
The stem stitch is an embroidery technique often used for outlining and creating smooth, curved lines that resemble stems or vines. It involves creating a series of overlapping stitches that are slightly slanted, giving the appearance of a twisted rope.

Work from left to right; bring needle from front to back and insert in fabric at desired stitch length. Exit between first two points of stitch. Take extra care to ensure that stitch distances are all equal and repeat sequence.
