I-Cord
I-cords are very simple tubular lengths of cord. They can be used as ties, as jewelry or as decorative finishes on your crochet.
To crochet a 2 loop I-cord: Begin with a slip knot on the hook, chain 2, skip the first chain from the hook, insert the hook in the 2nd chain, yarn over and pull up a loop to create 2 loops on the hook.
This right loop and left loop will be worked in a 4-step repeat to create the I-cord.
Step 1: Remove the left loop from the hook and hold it firmly between the thumb and middle finger of your left hand.
Step 2: Yarn over, pull through the remaining right loop on the hook.
Step 3: Return the left loop to the hook.
Step 4: Yarn over, pull through the left loop on the hook.
This completes the 4-step repeat.
Repeat Steps 1 through 4 until the I-cord is the desired length. Fasten off and weave in ends.
