Modified Turkey Work
The modified turkey work stitch is a fun and interesting stitch that leaves a loop or series of loops on your plastic canvas stitching. It can be used as decorative stitching, to create a unique border or as hair or fur in the design.
- Bring the needle up in the starting hole where desired (1).
- Take needle down through the canvas into a second hole one or more holes to the left or right (2). Before pulling yarn through, leave a small loop of yarn in the front.
- With the opposite thumb, hold the loop out of the way and bring the needle up through the first hole (3) and down in the second hole (4), this time pulling the yarn tight against the plastic canvas. The loop will be anchored.
