Watch your skills grow with your afghan! Great for confident beginners or for knitters wanting to try new techniques, this afghan begins with basic skills and progresses to more advanced patterns with each new stripe.
Annie's Knit Striped Afghan Club is a subscription that contains everything you need to make a soothing striped afghan. Each stripe of the afghan showcases a unique stitch pattern. With each kit you can grow your knitting skills as you learn new stitches and create new textures.
Each kit includes the acrylic worsted-weight yarn and instructions you need to knit 3 new stripes of your afghan (30 in total). The final kit walks you through finishing your afghan with the blocking, seaming and border. Plus, your first kit will include knitting needles U.S. sizes 7/4.5mm, 8/5mm and 9/5.5mm, 4 interchangeable needle cords (20", 24", 29" and 36"), a 5" cable needle, locking stitch markers and a tapestry needle as free gifts. You will also need common household supplies such as scissors, a ruler and a spray bottle for blocking.
Your membership also includes access to online video tutorials that walk you through every step of your afghan. Note that some of our knitting tutorial videos are American style and some are Continental. It is OK to knit in a different style than the video instructor. What is important is to watch how the needle goes into the stitch and pulls the yarn through the stitch. The video tutorials can help you learn new techniques, but we recommend that you have at least a basic understanding of how to knit before starting this afghan.
