How to Work a Long-Arm Cross Stitch

A variation of the standard cross stitch that creates a more elongated and textured effect. It’s often used in traditional or folk embroidery, particularly in patterns that require a stronger, more defined line. The stitch is named for the longer arm, which is twice the length of the shorter arm.

Bring needle up at (1) and down at (2). Complete the “X”, coming up at (3) and down at (4), before moving on to the next stitch, which will cross over the longer arm just stitched.
