How to Straight Stitch
Straight stitches are the easiest plastic canvas stitch. Stitches can be any length and go in any direction. They are typically used for outlining and adding texture. Straight stitches are often worked on top of continental stitching for added detail. They can be worked in different designs, such as star shapes, radiating lines, cross-hatch patterns and more.
- Bring the needle up through the plastic canvas where you desire the stitch to begin. Take the needle down through the canvas where you want the stitch to end. You can make straight stitches any length and in any direction.
- Work the next straight stitch in the same manner. Straight stitches do not always touch other straight stitches, but they can.
