How to Lazy Daisy Stitch

Lazy daisy stitches are embroidery stitches that are used as decorative stitches on plastic canvas. They are often used to form flower petals, leaves and texture. Lazy daisy stitches can be any length and worked in any direction.

  1. Bring your needle up through the plastic canvas (1), then back down in same hole (2), leaving a small loop. Be careful not to pull the loop through the hole.
  2. Gently hold the loop in place with your opposite thumb.
  3. Bring the needle up inside the loop (3), then take the needle back down through the plastic canvas on the outside of the loop to secure the stitch (4). The farther away from your starting hole 3 is, the larger your lazy daisy stitch will be.
